Story
Well it’s certainly been a crazy few weeks for us at the rescue! Almost three weeks ago two of the rescue team travelled to Somerset to pick up a group of 10 bunnies from a hoarding situation. We welcomed Phil, Axle, Horace, Blueberry, Strawberry, Lychee, Ethel, Edith, Raisin and Cherry! The girls are currently on pregnancy watch because none of the bunnies were neutered and were all allowed to mix with each other at times, so we are currently crossing our fingers that we don’t have any new little additions to an already bursting rescue! All bunnies will be vaccinated and neutered as soon as possible and then will be able to head off to new homes Not long after this we were contacted by another rescue who had been approached by someone with 40 bunnies needing help. Of course we jumped to help, launching our appeal for new foster homes in order to help these bunnies in need. We were absolutely blown away by the response and can’t thank everyone enough for all your generosity! A lot of time was put into organising homes for these bunnies, but unfortunately we received complete silence from them despite our offers to help. We are still hoping they get back to us so we can get the bunnies out of this situation but unfortunately we have done all we can to make contact with no response. Immediately after this we were contacted by One Bun At A Time who had another 11 bunnies needing our help! Fortunately, we had managed to secure a number of new foster homes in the response to our appeal so we agreed to help straight away and the following day the bunnies came to us all the way from Derby! We were able to get them all safe and sound in their foster homes that evening and Clementine, Betty, Craig, Snowflake, Misty, Ivy, Martha, Bertie, Teddy, Charlie and Tinkerbell are doing well Unfortunately a few of them are overweight, poor Teddy has dental problems and a broken tooth and Misty has very sore skin from being kept in poor conditions. We are working on getting them all back to full health as soon as we can and are just thankful we were able to rescue them. Weve already spent £2,500 on vet bills from last month. We have put the females on pregnancy watch, just in case, and all buns will be vaccinated and neutered as soon as possible. We also have a few more bunnies in need coming to us over the next few days that needed our help; We really are on a mission at the moment! All bunnies will be advertised on our social media and website soon if you are interested in adopting any of them. With this large intake of bunnies obviously comes very large vet bills! Although most bunnies are thankfully healthy, we do have a few that need extra treatment and will be paying to vaccinate and neuter every one of them. We are therefore asking if anyone can spare any amount of money towards our Justgiving, even if that is just £1 we would be so grateful. We are so fortunate that we have been able to help so many bunnies lately with the generosity of our fosterers and volunteers, we now need your help to make sure we can continue to do be able to do this. As many of you know, we are a completely self -funded rescue and therefore are reliant on donations from our amazing followers. If you can’t afford to donate at this time, please share.
Thank you so much in advance!
