Story

On the 26th May, the Brockswood Animal Sanctuary team woke to find that our Turkeys and three Sheep had been stolen during the night. We are completely heartbroken and concerned for their welfare. These are not just Turkeys and Sheep; they are family to us. They are Trevor, Clarissa, Rose, Florence and Minnie. All old animals and some undergoing special treatment – they NEED us.

This is sadly not the first time that we have been targeted and this concerns us; but the fact is, these criminals were able to get on and off our sanctuary far too easily! While we have raised funds in the past for the CCTV system that your kind donations bought us, it is now evident that we need to go beyond this and opt for a FULL Security Upgrade.

Why haven’t we done this before? We simply cannot afford it. The welfare of our animals is paramount but as a not-for-profit relying entirely on your donations, all funds raised have had to be spent on the care of our animals; feeding, cleaning, veterinary treatment, etc. – near £3,000 a WEEK in fact.

Now it is evident that to completely safeguard our animals, we MUST achieve this. We MUST do everything possible to raise the funds needed to keep their home safe. This will involve upgrades such as new padlocks for enclosures, wider CCTV and alarm system coverage, security lighting, and most importantly, COMPLETELY securing our perimeter fences against intruders.

We realise this is unfortunately an enormous target! EVERY SINGLE PENNY raised will go towards this – keeping our animals SAFE and SECURE. Our animals rely entirely on us to keep them safe, and we do not want to let them down. This is their Forever Home and it’s time to make sure it stays that way.
