I'm raising £20000 to Help Build Soul Solstice Sauna — A Community Wellness Dream in Sutherland

Story

My name is Brogan, and I live in North West Sutherland — a wild, remote, and beautiful part of Scotland where community and connection mean everything. Over the last few years, I’ve devoted my energy to local projects, charities, and events. Now I’m taking a brave step to focus on my own calling: to bring healing, warmth, and wellness to my community and to those who travel through these lands.

The dream is Soul Solstice Sauna — a hand-built, mobile sauna set on a double-axle trailer, crafted locally in Caithness with a Harvia M3 wood-fired stove and a large window overlooking the sea. It will be rooted here in Sutherland, beginning at Talmine Bay, offering people the chance to reconnect with nature, restore their bodies, and feel the deep peace of this place.

Saunas are not only about relaxation — they are about healing, community, and belonging. My vision is to keep sessions affordable and accessible, with discounts for local residents and free sessions for those who might otherwise be excluded. As a mobile sauna, Soul Solstice will travel between nearby communities to reduce accessibility barriers — bringing warmth and wellbeing to areas where services are limited and distances can be isolating.

Soul Solstice Sauna will be the first of its kind here, and I want it to grow into something that supports not just me, but my whole community.

Since launching this campaign, I’ve taken a huge step forward — completing my professional Sauna Master training. I’m now officially a certified Sauna Master, trained in the art of sauna ritual, steam, and ceremony.

Attending this training was an experience I will never forget — one that was only made possible through the generosity, love, and kindness of someone very dear to me who is no longer with us. Their support allowed me to take this next step, and I carried their spirit with me through every moment of the learning journey.

I hadn’t realised how in-depth and transformative the training would be — not just professionally, but personally. The pain I carried into the sauna was melted away by the heat, breath, and stillness. I left feeling renewed, grounded, and deeply connected to the ancient roots of this practice.

Now, I feel truly equipped and confident to guide others — whether through ritual or communal sessions — with an open heart and deep respect for the sanctity of the sauna. Training alongside AJ from Seaview Sauna in Dunnet made the experience even more special. Together, we’re helping to strengthen connection and culture along the north coast of Scotland and honour a tradition that has been healing communities for centuries.

Soul Solstice Sauna is no longer just a dream — it’s becoming a sanctuary of warmth, connection, and transformation, rooted in tradition, gratitude, and community.

Why I’m asking for help:

To bring this dream into reality, I need to raise £20,000. This covers:

£13,000 — build of the sauna trailer, stove, and fitting (by a trusted local craftsman who has built his own successful sauna).

£5,000 — trailer, materials, insulation, and finishing touches.

£2,000 — safety, licensing, and start-up costs (insurance, fire safety, equipment).

I have already put my heart, energy, and countless hours into laying the foundations. Now, I need support to cross the bridge from vision into reality.

How you can help:

Make a donation of any size — every pound truly helps.

Share this campaign with friends, family, or anyone who believes in wellness, community, and rural Scotland.

Contribute a skill, material, or connection if you have one.

Gifts of Gratitude (thank-you rewards):

£14 — one free sauna session once we are open.

£70 — a private hire session for you and friends.

£222 — your name engraved on the sauna’s interior beam as a founding supporter.

£1,000+ — lifetime supporter: free sauna sessions whenever you come.

I believe fully that Soul Solstice Sauna is meant to exist. It will be a place of warmth, care, and belonging — a place to reconnect to the land, the sea, and ourselves.

With your help, this dream can become real.

Thank you for reading, for supporting, and for believing in the power of community, wellness and tradition.
