Weʼve raised £605 to Help Repair the Leaking Church Roof
- Funded on Monday, 10th January 2022
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
St Peter's Church in Bearsted is nearly 40 years old but sadly now has a leaky roof which will cost about £7,000 to repair. The social committee are planning a series of events to raise funds but some people may prefer just to make a donation to what we call our 'Brolly and Bucket' project (because on rainy days they were the only way to stay dry inside the church.) Thank you as always for your support.

2 years agoThis is the final weekend of the Appeal, which culminated in the Fish and Quiz evening last night which itself raised about £300. So with direct donations and what has been received online, we have overall raised about £2500 towards the cost of repair which is a great achievement. The heavy rain and storms over the past 24 hours here haven't resulted in a drop of water entering, so it looks as if we are 'watertight' for a while. Again, thanks everyone for their generosity !

3 years agoThanks to everyone for their contributions either through this site or directly to Fr Geoff. This fundraising will run to the end of November so that, when coupled with other events, we will have made a significant dent in the cost of roofing repairs. No more brollies or buckets this winter, hopefully :)

Thank you so much for the Live Stream masses that have continued through lockdown up to now. They are a real reassurance and help to me.
