I've raised £2340 to Brontë's Philippines placement fund

My name is Brontë, and I am a 2nd year student paediatric nurse studying at the University of Winchester. June 2023, I will be travelling to the Philippines as part of my nursing degree to gain experience in a developing country and to support their healthcare service within the paediatric area. The trip is coordinated by a company called Work the World who organise and support students with their placements abroad, as well as proving support back to the local hospitals with monetary and equipment donations.
The cost of the programme itself is £2340, which covers the placement service, catered accommodation and 24/7 overseas support. All money raised, will go towards the programme costs and with any extra raised this will be donated towards the local healthcare system at the end of the experience.
By getting the opportunity to see the other side of healthcare where resources are limited, it will open my eyes to how other healthcare systems are struggling daily. Broadening my skills and attitude, I will be able to bring this mindset back, adapting my approach to nursing in the NHS today.
Thank you to anyone who contributes towards the costs of this amazing opportunity.
