Story

It all started about 2 years ago when I was volunteering for the charity Look Good Feel Good, an amazing charity who hold beauty classes for women going through treatment for cancer and give them a fabulous makeup bag full of goodies. I ran a few of their classes and talked with the women about how their routines around make-up have changed due to treatment and what they struggled with the most. I had a fair idea, as I helped my mum a lot when she was receiving treatment. As well as the impact on your body physically, you loose your hair, your skin can change colour and pigmentation can arise, this affects you mentally in a huge way. This was the start of my journey, but recently a huge nudge came from an amazing young woman who is receiving treatment currently and whilst I got the absolute pleasure of doing her make-up we discussed her new routine. (she was such amazing young woman and really inspiring, thank you Erin)

Let me get you to visualise something... you have no eyebrows, none, no start point and no end, no idea of shape for you face and how to begin drawing them in. How do you make them look natural? How do you know if they suit your facial shape? You are left feeling deflated, anxious, paranoid and anything but confident. Cancer strips women of all confidence, dignity and control, and if having your eyebrows in place makes you feel like you and gives you confidence, then my gosh you should have that!

I have been thinking about holding classes called #browsagainstcancer for sometime and right now is the time. I can do something to help, I can teach women how to draw in their eyebrows, I can teach them the correct shade of pencil, I can show them the technique from start to finish, and I can do it now. If the class helps just one women feel confident, feel empowered and give her a boost to fight the good fight then it will be a roaring success in my book. So that is what I shall do.

I am so excited about this project and cannot wait to begin the classes, working with women to empower women. If you would be interested in sponsoring the event, donating to the evening's raffle or in any other way support #browsagainstcancer, I would be so grateful. Please do not hesitate to contact me on the email below and I hope to see you all there. I promise you an empowering evening.

All my love,
