Story

My Bruce is a 5 year old Boxer x Staff male (neutered). He has a brother (Donald) whom he has a very close relationship with since birth. Although they live apart and have done all their lives they still see each other roughly 3 days a week for walkies and play time. About 2 months ago Bruce started sleeping a lot more than usual and acting very distant, which is very unlike our boy. Even when the words 'time to go and meet your brother' were announced.. To our amazement Bruce just lay there looking very sad indeed. It was quickly decided it was time to see the vet. This was difficult for both Bruce and myself. He had a full physical examination and was sent home awaiting the results with a first diagnosis as very mild urinary infection. After the test results were back we were told Bruce had severe bruising and bleeding all the way down his neck and chest, and the tops of his legs. Pyrexia and Jaundice, increased liver parameters and bilirubin, off the scale clotting times.

Full Diagnosis - Inflammatory cholangiohepatitis diagnosed from liver biopsy.

Bruce is very unwell. I am thankful his condition is very much treatable. He requires 9 units of FFP over three days until coagulation times normalised. Two units of PRBC to treat anaemia. Antibiotics and steroids. I so far have spent £470 on Bruce's vet bill. I am told with treatment the chances of a full recovery are 98.99% which can be taken as 100%. I have already got myself in to debt and I cannot raise anymore funds. I have a less than perfect credit score and unable to borrow. I have already sorned my car and canceled insurance payments and tax payments. I have fallen behind on bills for the treatment so far. I would use my own rent money for our home if it comes to it but Bruce and I will need our house when he is better. I am reaching out to anyone who could see their way to help financially with Bruces treatment.

With Love, Reece & Bruce
