Story
Bryan Donkin FRS FRAS (22nd March 1768 to 27th February 1855) developed the first paper making machine and tin can. These were the basis for large industries that continue to flourish today. He founded the Bryan Donkin Company which moved from London to Chesterfield in 1902. Bryan Donkin was involved with Thomas Telford’s Caledonian Canal, Marc and Isambard Brunel's Thames Tunnel, and Charles Babbage’s computer. The picture shows how the grave needs cleaning. There is also a crack in the base which will be repaired. A professional repair company Priests have been engaged to carry out the work. Priest Restoration They have kindly agreed to also clean the adjoing graves of John Wilkes, Bryan Donkin's business partner and the Nolloth family grave which contains some of Bryan's wife's nephews and nieces.

It will be 250 years from his birth on the 22nd March 2018, so this is a good occasion to refurbish his grave.
