Story
Unfortunately most of us know someone who has been affected by Cancer. My wife was lucky enough to win her battle due to the the amazing advances in treatment of this terrible disease.
I'd like to express my thanks by raising money for Cancer Research UK by completing a sponsored bike from London to Paris over 3 days.
DAY 1
Our start line will be in Greenwich Park in southeast London and we'll be heading to Newhaven to catch our ferry to Dieppe.
DAY 2
Arriving very early in Dieppe, our route joins the Avenue Verte: a beautiful, purpose-built cycle route southward to Paris.
DAY 3
The final stretch from Beauvais to Paris
The charity was formed 20 years ago, in 2002. However, their history goes back much further, to 1902. From studies of the intricate workings of molecules within cells to the results of large-scale clinical trials of treatments, every result helps to deepen our understanding of cancer and find new ways to fight it.
We want to bring about a world where everybody can lead longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
A world where:
Some types of cancer are effectively eliminated
Many more are prevented from developing in the first place
People who do develop cancer are diagnosed at the earliest possible stage so they can be successfully treated
Treatments are more effective, kinder and more targeted, so people can lead better, more fulfilling lives
Everyone shares in this progress equally, regardless of who they are, where they’re from or what type of cancer they have.
A portion of funds raised are used to cover to cost of the fundraising challenge.
