In 2014 I visited The Gambia. I met a wonderful family through a charity called GOAL for the Gambia. I currently sponsor two of their children to attend school.

I visited their house whilst I was there. They live in a small single roomed accommodation in a shared compound. Within this room there is just one double bed, some chairs and a kitchen area.
Sounds like a studio flat right? Most of us would only see 1 or maybe 2 people living in a studio flat in the UK.
In this room in 2014 lived the mum, the dad and 3 children! The mother was pregnant when I visited. She has now given birth.......twins. So this small room is now the home for 7 of them.

The father is currently trying to build them their own house where they will have more space and the privacy they need. As you can imagine they do not have much money at all and the build has become a very slow process, especially with the two new additions to the family.

So, I have decided to try to help them. They are unaware I have set this page up but I would love to be able to surprise them with the money they need to complete their house or at least move the process along. It wont be anything like a house we are used to in the UK but for them it would mean a safe and secure property for the parents to raise their children and build a better life for their family.

The money would be distributed with the help of the charity so all monies raised would go directly on building materials needed to complete the house.

I really hope that together we can help to get this family into their new home. They are truly deserving of this help. Every amount, no matter how big or small is gratefully received and will go a long way to help.
