Weʼre raising £590 to Provide replacement trees on Duckmoor Road in Ashton, BS3

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

Trees benefit our streets visually as well as improving the environment (Forest Research entitled Health Benefits of Street Trees can be found at: https://www.forestry.gov.uk/fr/infd-8jcejh). In the last year a number of local street trees have been lost and unfortunately the Council currently has no funds available to replace them.

Each tree costs £295 to replace, including maintenance (details can be found at https://www.bristol.gov.uk/museums-parks-sports-culture/treebristol-planting-trees-in-bristol). As this is a big ask for one individual, should the community like to contribute we may be able to raise the funds to replace some trees and improve our environment.

Along Duckmoor Road, due to decay and disease, four trees have collapsed/been felled in 2017. We would like to see these replaced. Initially we are hoping to raise funds to replace two of these trees (including that opposite the Dampier Road junction, close to Raleigh Road and one/two of those missing close to the Durnford Street junction.

Thanks for donations. Pleased to see that a replacement tree has recently been planted in one of the identified locations. This means there are now 3 potential locations for new trees to sponsor on Duckmoor Road. I am going to have a push on this during the arts trail this week.

Thanks for donating to the Maple Road appeal. We didn't use the funds in the end so I'm refunding your £5 (and also adding Martin Tweddell's £5 that he is happy to donate to your appeal). Good luck!
