Story
Trees benefit our streets visually as well as improving the environment (Forest Research entitled Health Benefits of Street Trees can be found at: https://www.forestry.gov.uk/fr/infd-8jcejh). In the last year a number of local street trees have been lost and unfortunately the Council currently has no funds available to replace them.
Each tree costs £295 to replace, including maintenance (details can be found at https://www.bristol.gov.uk/museums-parks-sports-culture/treebristol-planting-trees-in-bristol). As this is a big ask for one individual, should the community like to contribute we may be able to raise the funds to replace some trees and improve our environment.
Along Duckmoor Road, due to decay and disease, four trees have collapsed/been felled in 2017. We would like to see these replaced. Initially we have replaced one of these trees. Should enough funds be raised a second tree will be planted.

4 years agoWith Bristol’s Mayor recognising the benefits of planting trees across the city, any donations to help fund another street tree locally would be gratefully received. Happy new year!

4 years agoJust to say that’s for the ongoing support for the tree fund, we received another generous donation this week. The tree already sponsored looks good when the sun has come out this week. We will keep the page open into next year in the hope that we may reach the target of a second tree, also to see whether any trees are planted as part of the upcoming traffic island upgrades on Duckmoor Road. Thanks again

Well done, Martin! Thanks for doing this, trees make such a difference to our streets - creating a more pleasant environment and helping support wildlife.
