    Story

B strong U belong, increasing everyone's awareness around mental health and depression.

Major depression is a rapidly growing issue; however there remains a common misconception around depression and the reluctance to deal with this in UK society. It is now the number one physical disorder in the western world, it is growing in all age groups and can be found in all communities.

In 2012 a very close friend of ours and many people decided to take his own life at 37 years old. Apart from the shock and grief the worst thing looking back on this was the fact that nobody knew how bad his depression and anxiety had become. Although aware of this in the past and supporting him during the tough times, his actions came as a shock to all of us.

This is where 'Be Strong You Belong' comes in......

A charity partnership initiative has been set up with two Bristol based charities 'Off the Record' and 'Second Step' in memory of Pete Davies:

    http://www.otrbristol.org.uk/

    http://www.second-step.co.uk/

The purpose of the partnership is to raise funds for these two great charities, as well as increasing everyone's awareness around mental health.

On Sunday 11th June 2017 we visit Kenya on our annual BSUB outreach trip. The following 9 BSUB team members will be making the trip:

    Luke Elstone-Bryan
    Paul Hocking
    Daniel Miles
    Beth Elstone-Bryan
    Daniel Jackson
    Lewis Smallman
    Susan Ison-Stierer
    Rob Levenston
    Guy Lewis

During our trip we will be supporting a local orphanage and sports academy as well as climbing Kenya's second highest summit Mt.Longonot!

This is the last journey of our 2016-2017 aim to raise £10,000, thanks for all of your support this year and the continued support next year!

Lets make a difference to 'Second Step' and 'Off the Record' in Pete Davies's memory.
