I've raised £2900 to donate to The TEA Project-UK to buy the resources needed to renovate an education centre in Sri Lanka.

In 2019, a group of 14 pupils from Bohunt Worthing will be travelling out to Sri Lanka to carry out renovation work on an education centre near the city of Kandy. The district they are travelling to is one of the poorest in the region, and poverty is the norm amongst the children who live there.
The charity the pupils will be working with during their work, the TEA Project, aims to support the deliverance of quality and accessible education for the children who grow up in these areas of poverty in Sri Lanka. Their project aim states:
"We provide training, support and guidance to schools, orphanages and grass roots organisations; working directly with marginalised, vulnerable children and young people from poor communities.
The project helps give young people a voice. A voice which develops ambition, skills, knowledge and opportunities for underprivileged children. Unlocking a child’s hidden potential."
Read more about the great work the charity does by visiting The TEA Project UK website.
The group of 14 pupils are extremely excited about their charity work in Sri Lanka, and have the challenge of raising the money to cover their travel and trips costs in order to go. However, the school is committed to supporting the TEA project charity and the projects they deliver. Bohunt Worthing has set a mission to raise money for the charity which could go to buying the resources that are used to renovate the education centre the Bohunt pupils will be working on. Equally so, the money could go to any of the other fantastic projects the TEA project have underway in Sri Lanka already.
We have set the challenge for every pupil in the school to raise £5. If every pupil in the school manages that, the school will be able to donate a huge £2,900 to the TEA project to support the work they do. The pupils at Bohunt School will be doing this by carrying out a charity walk on Friday 25th May, from Bohunt school to Cissbury Ring and back.
Please donate what you can, as this is a massive opportunity for the school to do something charitable as a whole community, and to support an extremely worthy cause.
Many thanks!
