Hi. My name is Joanne.

On Sunday 16th August 2026 I will be running the Scottish Half Marathon to raise money for BTC Productions, a community-based, amateur musical theatre company, based in the Balerno area of Edinburgh. I have only been running for two years and have never run a half marathon before. So, this will be quite a challenge for me - a 57 year old woman!!

About the cause:

BTC is a friendly, inclusive company, and our mission is to create inclusive opportunities for performers of all experiences from seasoned veterans to complete newcomers. We welcome new members from age 7+, with no upper age limit. Whether it is a pantomime, musical, concert or occasional play, we believe in the power of community and creativity coming together on stage.

Our emphasis is on fun and professionalism and we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive family feel in how we rehearse, prepare for and perform our shows.

Our shows are entirely self-funded and rely on the generous support of the cast, their family, friends, and the community.

Whatever amount you are able to d9nate, it will be greatly received and put to very good use.
