Story
Dear All,
There are still hundreds of refugees sleeping rough in Calais. They are not allowed to put up tents to shelter in at night, they don't have access to sanitation, and they don't know what tomorrow might bring. This year we want to do more to help those who have been forced to leave their homes, friends, and families and are now suffering in an unstable limbo. We're going to Calais for a week on April 10th to volunteer with Care4Calais, to help in the warehouses there as well as helping to distribute aid. We're raising fund to cover some of our travel costs, and so that we can buy supplies to fill our car and donate when we get there. The list of items needed includes basics like food, clothes, shoes, tents, torches, bin bags, toiletries, tarpaulins and roll mats.
It is difficult to hear stories about people who are so like us, but have seen and experienced unimaginable things. If you feel that you can donate anything then it would be greatly appreciated. We can also forward you the list of items needed if you would prefer to buy them yourselves and post them to us.
Love from,
Ella & Jacob
