Story
Alex is a 13 year old young boy at Yate Academy in Year 9.
Alex was diagnosed with a Brain Tumour a year ago, for which he went through a serious operation to remove the tumour. However, over the last couple of weeks, Alex has had a number of seizures. This resulted in him being admitted to hospital for further tests.
Unfortunately, the prognosis is not good news, a number of new tumours have been discovered and he has been given just a few months to live.
Alex is very keen to return to school as he wants to spend time with his friends.
Alex has created his ‘Bucket List’, which includes a trip to Harry Potter world, a trip to see the Red Arrows, a visit to Disneyland Paris, a Boat Ride down the Thames, an Indoor Skydive, Paintballing, Archery , a visit to the Concorde museum and watching a Wrestling Match. It would be brilliant if we as a whole school community can pay for as many of these as possible.
The academy are looking to have a ‘wear a hat’ day, as Alex is often known as the ‘boy in the hat’.
Thank you all fro your very kind donations.
Alex and his family achieved so much in the time he had with us.
Sadly, Alex passed away on 23rd December 2017. Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad and emotional time.
