Hello!

Towards the end of March we have a delightful team consisting of Joana Arianwen, Sally Charlton, Naila Dhalla, Jack Drake, Ishani Rao, Gaz Rees, Connor Sharrock, Alex Smith, and Katie Wilson heading to the Greek island of Lesvos to help out with whatever we can in the refugee camps. We will triage and see patients in the medical centre, sort out and bring medications, help with cooking and distributing food, bring any clothes and supplies that we can from the UK, help clean and build the social areas in the camps, and volunteer our time in whatever way necessary at the One Happy Family centre and the hectic, inundated Moria camp.

We have paid for transport and accommodation for the week which is very expensive considering we have to change in Athens to get to the island, and would like to purchase items such as simple medications (paracetamol, ibuprofen, antihistamines, Savlon etc), wound dressings and medical equipment, practical things such as stationary, and anything that the camp may request that we bring from the UK, including lots of donated clothes (thank you!!!) We would really appreciate any donations to ease the cost of the week and to contribute towards funding any additional purchases. If we raise enough then we will donate money directly to the charities themselves.

Ishani went last year with her dad and triaged over 150 patients, as well as building a childrens climbing frame, and looking after a vegetable garden which is sponsored by Lush :D She will really appreciate having a talented and motivated group with her this year and appreciates that they have all put in their own time and money to coming to Lesvos. This year there are even more individuals living in the refugee camps and the situation is even worse as the camps are at breaking point in terms of sanitation, hygiene and funding. Please help donate as much or as little as you can in order to make this trip a success.
