Story

The Project

The St Vincent de Paul Society on Wirral own a static caravan on the North Wales coast for the use of families who otherwise would have no chance of a holiday. Families are selected according to need, irrespective of faith, culture or background and are referred by schools, health visitors, social workers and church ministers.

Each family visits the caravan for a week and is provided with transport, food and spending money. This really is a wonderful chance for families in desperate need of a restorative break to spend time away together, and allows children to be children, away from any pressures in their everyday lives.

The Plan

Unfortunately, this unique project is struggling to survive due to a lack of financial support. A few local parishioners have come together with the aim of raising enough money to cover the cost of at least eight weeks of the holidays this summer.

We’re calling this campaign Operation Bucket and Spade!

Our campaign target is to raise at least £2,800 to cover the required £350 per holiday.

Please help us to make a major positive difference in the lives of some of the people who need it most.
