July 18th should have been when 2000+ people got together to celebrate, listen to great music and raise funds for some great charities. Sadly, COVID-19 means we cannot deliver that festival.

Each of our charity partners has been impacted by the current pandemic, affecting their fundraising and their spending. Whilst we can’t have the event, we can still do something to support our charity partners.

Buckfest is a great day out, with great music, for a great price. If you would have attended Buckfest why not donate £12 - the cost of an adult ticket

At Buckfest 2019, Ian C, one of our committee members, covered just over 80km in the 4 days including the 2 for setup prior to the event and the Sunday for the clear-up. Buckfest is also about having a good time, and includes a wide range of beers & ciders to enjoy. To celebrate these two facts, the Buckfest committee have decided to collectively cover that distance on the day Buckfest would have taken place. We will be starting and finishing at Buckden Village Club, walking via Brampton, Grafham and Perry, making sure to stop at the various pubs along the way to help support them as they get back on their feet after being closed for 4 months (subject to restrictions being lifted in time!).

You could support us by donating a pint - £5, or donating a round - £20

Whilst some of the committee are wandering between pubs, our fearless leader, Rick Holden, will be undertaking an epic bike ride round over the same weekend. He will be doing 5 separate routes of 100 miles starting and finishing in Brampton each day. These should take in around 20000 feet of climbing and visit Cambs, Beds, Northants and Lincs. If anyone fancies joining in at all some company would be greatly appreciated! Ian B, our man in charge of beer, will be joining Rick for at least one day!

Sponsor Rick in this effort and help support our charity partners! 1p a mile is £5, 5p a mile is £25.

Thank you, all donations are greatly appreciated.

Original entry

We at Buckfest HQ are devastated that because of the COVID-19 pandemic we cannot proceed with Buckfest 2020 as planned. Not only do we lose a great day of music, food, beer and sunshine (probably) but the charities we were going to support this year - Leonard Cheshire, Huntingdon Community Cancer Network and 3 Pillars Feeding the Homeless – lose out on the vital funding they would have received.

Whilst we can’t have the event, we can still do something to support our charity partners. The first thing we will do is to invite those charity partners to be part of Buckfest 2021.

Secondly, to help them at a time when nearly all fundraising activities are severely curtailed, we are asking all those that would have bought a ticket for the event this year to make a donation instead - any donation, however small will help our charities to provide ongoing support during very testing times.

We are extremely lucky at Buckfest to have a loyal and generous group of sponsors who return year after year. We are also asking them to make a donation, if they are able.

To encourage you all to donate our fearless leader, Rick Holden, will be undertaking an epic bike ride round over the weekend when Buckfest would have taken place. He will be doing 5 separate routes of 100 miles starting and finishing in Brampton each day. These should take in around 20000 feet of climbing and visit Cambs, Beds, Northants and Lincs. If anyone fancies joining in at all some company would be greatly appreciated.

Please help us to help others by donating whatever you can.

Thank you
