Story

Bucks Students' Union will be fundraising money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Buckinghamshire Mind. These 2 charities were picked by our students.

Buckinghamshire Mind is run by local people for local people and is responsible for its own funding and the services it provides. Like all local Minds, Buckinghamshire Mind receives no funding from national Mind. Therefore, we rely on donations and community fundraising, which underpin all our vital mental health services. This support makes an incredible difference, ensuring we can be here to support our community’s mental health needs now and in the future.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People -We train dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds they would otherwise miss – such as the smoke alarm, alarm clock and even a baby crying. Being aware of these – thanks to a hearing dog – makes a real difference to deaf people’s lives and can even save them.
