I've raised £1000 to help rebuild a school in Nepal when we go on our school expedition.

We are 14 S5 Bucksburn Academy pupils who are going on an educational expedition to Nepal to help the area rebuild a school which was struck by the earthquake below the mighty mountain peaks of the Himalayas. Departing in June 2019, we are currently fundraising in preparation for the trek to Nepal where we will be carrying out volunteer work at a school charity project in the Trusilli Valley.
The community was shattered by the earthquake and is still trying to regain all its resources. We hope to help and are excited about travelling abroad, representing our home and country. We hope to build skills including teamwork, empathy, communication, self-awareness and become more 'worldly wise'.
The expedition is a huge personal challenge for all of us and we hope to gain skills which we will take with us throughout life. We hope to grow in self-confidence from the satisfaction of helping others.
We will take part in some lessons with local children as well as visiting the capital Kathmandu and Chitwan National Park and take part in some low-level treks in the Pokhara area.
Our trip as a whole will cost over £50,000 and this cost will cover travel, accommodation, food, insurance, materials for the build, and gifts for the children of Nepal.
Our funding page is to help with these costs.
We thank you for any help which you can provide toward our expedition.
