Story
On the 1st until the 21st of July - students from Christ's Hospital School will be travelling to Kenya to build three classrooms for schools in desperate need of them. All of the students coming will be split into three groups and sent to each of the schools in order to give the children who go there a better chance at education. The schools we will be going to are struggling and are incredibly under provided for by the Kenyan government. Giving these schools extra resources to provide education will not only allow students to shelter from the rain and cold during lessons, but will also mean that they will not have to use the current dangerous buildings they currently have.
For this - each of the students involved has been asked to raise £300. Our method for fundraising will be this walk. 100 miles along the South Downs Way - A trip that will likely take up most of a week (camping along the way).
Our group consists of Kaspar, Louis, Luke & Mathew. The walk will take place during the Easter holidays. Hopefully this trip can be used to raise our full donation amount. Any money on top of the £300 each will be used to go toward our trip fees.
This trip really means a lot to us all as the first of its kind from Christ's Hospital. It gives us an opportunity to make a genuine difference for these students. We've seen some of the conditions that they have to go to school in - often travelling long distances to even get there in the first place. They deserve better, and its our hope to give that to them.
Thanks in advance for any donations to this great cause!
