I've raised £550 to ..

A family of six living in Wote have been renting a room for eight years. It’s been 18 years since Moses was born with serve cerebal paulsy and epilepsy. This has made life difficult for the family, with the mother feeling as if she “has not been happy for 18 years”, not being able to leave the house as she is Moses’ sole carer. Due to an unfortunate accident, the father could not support the family for 6 years, haulting the renovations on their house. This has made their daily lives a struggle. Now that the father is back in work, all money goes towards keeping their daughter in school, as they recognise the importance of her being in education, rather than burdening her with Moses’ care responsabilities. If their house were to be finished, there would be scope for the family to start farming and generating another income that allows the mother to continue to care for her disabled son at the same time. It will also give her a sense purpouse. Not only this, the extra space would be a huge help in rehabilitating Moses and his walking. 70,000 kenyan shillings is equivilent to our £550, and the thought that this amount of money would finish a house and help build towards a better future is something we want to work towards.
