Story

Our aim is to build a hospice in Lesotho in order to provide inpatient beds offering specialist palliative and end of life care to those suffering with life limiting illnesses especially cancer victims and their families.Currently there is no hospice provision in the country and patients requiring palliative and hospice services are suffering in silence, only a few families can afford taking their patients to the neighbouring South Africa.

Lesotho's Universal Health Coverage(UHC) is around 67% .Due to limited resources we are still lacking behind in some elements advocated by WHO(World Health Organisation) 'HealthforAll' initiative .One of those elements Lesotho is still struggling to achieve is palliative care ,hence lack of hospices in Lesotho.

With your help we hope to reach out to cancer patients by delivering palliative care services ,manage their pain and other symptoms, give them emotional ,spiritual and psychosocial support to them and their loved ones. We appeal to you to support this hospice movement where cancer patients' worries and fears and those of their families can be allayed and consequently improve their quality of life.

We are passionate about the quality palliative care delivery to the Basotho nation. This hospice will benefit so many in their hour of need, what a difference this will make to many beautiful lives! We trust you can assist us to build a homely environment where we can support the patients and their families welcome each day with the HOPE and expectation for tomorrow.

We are committed at putting our utmost efforts to establish an appropriate balance between providing the clinical care while maintaining the 'domestic 'nature of the hospice ,by ensuring a calm, safe and comfortable atmosphere to patients and families. We believe this hospice will be a place where people can live, truly live ,until they die.

We thank you for taking the time to visit our appeal page and we hope that you will find it in your hearts and budget to support this hospice initiative.

Together we shall overcome!!!
