I've raised £2000 to help Gunner and his family by taking on a challenge with a difference...sitting down..yep you read it right!..read on

Gunner Lewis - Vale, Ben's nephew, was diagnosed in March 2021 with a very rare genetic disorder called MPS 1, meaning he cannot breakdown his body’s sugars, shortening life expectancy with indefinite life changing effects.
Gunner is in desperate need of an urgent bone marrow transplant and with no match in the family or on the UK register there is now a worldwide search.
So these funds will be donated to Gunners charitable trust which will be used in a number of positive ways; testing kits to find a bone marrow match, raising awareness, research for future improvements and to help further understand the disorder, helping Gunner's family to accommodate the massive changes that they are going to have to overcome in coming months and years, and hopefully help other families who are similar situations.
So Andy, a long time friend of the family, desperate to come up with an alternative way of raising funds and awareness for Gunner and MPS, came across Shearer and Savages Wembley challenge and thought it would be just the ticket..he contacted venue after venue, trying to land on the perfect place; right size, local, and most of all supportive of the challenge.
And that's where Shrewsbury Town FC stepped up, extremely keen to support the challenge. Andy quickly called Ben, Gunners uncle, and talked him into the challenge.
So what is the challenge I hear you cry?! On 1st July, Andy and Ben are going to sit in every single seat in the Montgomery Waters Meadow (Shrewsbury Town FC's home ground) in 1 day. The stadium houses 10,000 seats which is expected to take the pair around 10 hours to do. Sounds easy doesn't it? Let me pitch it another way, think about doing 10,000 squats in 10 hours and think how you'd feel after that, now you're thinking...
Please contribute whatever you can to help spur us on during the day. We absolutely understand that people can't throw thousands of pounds around at the moment, but even if you can spare a pound, if 2,000 people did that, the goal would be hit and the boys can do their thing! Even if you can't contribute, please share this link to friends and family to raise awareness and maybe even better, some money.
