Story
On Sunday 6th May, a group of 27 Burgess Hodgson staff will be attempting to complete one of hardest challenges around, the TOUGH MUDDER.
The course consists of 20 obstacles over a 10 mile stretch which the group will have to conquer. The challenge will take strength and teamwork to complete, but all are hungry to put themselves through it in aid of the 3 BH charities.
This year Burgess Hodgson have chosen three charities to support throughout the year. These are:
Catching Lives | An independent charity aimed at supporting the rough sleepers, homeless and vulnerably housed in Canterbury and East Kent; those who have, for many reasons, fallen through the gaps in society and feel they have nowhere else to turn.
The Canterbury and District Samaritans | A self-funding branch of Samaritans. Samaritan’s vision is that fewer people die by suicide. They work to achieve this vision by making it their mission to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicidal feelings and behaviour.
The Canterbury Umbrella Centre | A Charity Community Centre that is open to everybody and particularly provides support to people with mental health problems. Umbrella is located in a purpose-built Centre designed as a place where people can come and feel welcomed and supported.
To support these charities, or if you want to give some (much needed) moral support, we welcome you to donate to the Burgess Hodgson crowdsourcing fund. The money raised will be divided equally between the three charities.
