I'm raising £20000 to Burnage RFC Flood Repairs and Prevention

Help Burnage RFC make their facilities safe for community use!
Over the New Year, Burnage RFC suffered extensive damage to many of our facilities due to flooding. The River Mersey overflowed, knocking over much of the fencing on the borders of the ground and depositing silt all over the grass pitches and par 3 golf/footgolf course. Furthermore, the drainage system in the Heaton Mersey Industrial estate backed up, flooding our car park with waste which overflowed onto the grass pitches.
We are in need of extensive repairs and clean up to make the ground safe for use by the community. The grass pitches are mainly used by our Academy, with over 250 boys and girls in our Academy using the pitches weekly. We also host the Manchester Rubies RFC girls team as well as over 11 youth and adult football teams, Burnage Footgolf, Park Run, Manchester Mozzies Aussie Rules, SMOG Ultimate Frisbee and American Flag Football, as well as the many that turn up and play football, 5-a-side football, par 3 golf and footgolf.
Now that the floodwaters have receded we require an extensive clean up and repair project. Due to the increased frequency of extreme weather events we also need to invest in fixing long standing issues that has exacerbated the current damage. Having assessed the situation and speaking to contractors and utility companies, we anticipate that the costs of restoring and renovating our grounds will cost at least £20,000, where we will need to
+Clear undergrowth and trees and replacing up to 100m of fencing alongside our border.
+Remove silt, debris (including shopping trollies) and potentially harmful organic matter from and restore the grass pitches and golf/footgolf course.
+Drain and clear any potentially harmful organic matter from the carpark
+Fix sinking areas of the car park
+Improve drainage of grass pitches, including installation of a pump to assist with the drainage.
+Fix the scrum machine
Burnage RFC is a vibrant community hub with the sports facilities in constant use by a diverse set of users. You can help us restore these facilities by donating, any size great and small will help!
