Story

We are raising funds for the residents social fund for Burnfoot Care Home. This fund is used to provide entertainment and trips out away from the home as well as ensuring they receive some little luxuries. Many of our residents are living with dementia and we want to make their time with us fun and stimulating as well as being cared and supported in a loving and meaningful way. Money raised is all put back into this area.

The Burnfoot Bike-athon!

We are using mini pedal bikes to cycle from our home in Ecclefechan, southern Scotland to John O Groates which is 350 miles away. All able residents and staff will use the stand alone bikes to cycle around 5 miles per day on each of our 5 bikes. This will take us around 2 weeks to complete Starting on Monday 20 May at 10am.

The bikes have kindly been lent to us by Karen Robertson who is the founder of the national Lets Motivate scheme to try keep the elderly active and motivated to join in with excercise.
