I've raised £10000 to Burnt Oak Community Food Bank

Burnt Oak Community Food Bank was est in March 2021 at the peak of covid-19 pandemic by myself Deepa Chauhan who has been involved in feeding the homeless for over 10 years. Burnt Oak is an area with high levels of deprivation that's been overlooked for many years and comprises of diverse communities. The food bank operates a no referral system and serves the community on a fortnightly basis from St Alphage Church Hall and supports the elderly, single parents, young families, the homeless, asylum seekers and refugees struggling to feed themselves. To date just over 30,000 people have benefitted from the food bank and the need for our services are increasing day by day. With the costs of living rising rapidly not just in food items, we've been hit with higher fuel costs and van hire charges to transport our goods to the church we distribute emergency food parcels to residents self isolating/unable to access the food bank hence our costs have shot up dramatically. As more and more people are accessing our food bank we need financial assistance to purchase fresh and non perishable items for the food bank. Under our Community Interest Company SAFA CIC ( Skills, Advice, Food Aid ) Burnt Oak Community Food Bank has grown from strength to strength by distributing an extensive range of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, hot meals, ready made meals as well as toiletries/personal hygiene items so our beneficiaries are able to eat regularly, and focus on surviving these difficult times. With the current hyke in electricity, gas and food bill's we are expecting a 95% increase in the number of people accessing our food bank in the coming months. Our motto is simple Serve All Feed All - no one should be with out food especially in the 21st century. We are entering inprecendeted times and are calling on your help so we can continue to offer food support to those most in need. However much you are able to donate it will go a long way and will have a positive impact on our beneficiaries.
