I'm raising £2500 to rebuild a nursery school in Gambia.

Story

This year, Burton House are running the Bath Half marathon in order to rebuild a small nursery school in Gambia. The current school is a single room with a corrugated iron roof and a mud floor. We hope to build a brand new classroom, complete with three toilets. If we raise enough money, we would love to fill the room with educational toys and games- as currently there are none. Students sit in rows at old wooden desks and learn from a blackboard. Also, during the rainy season that lasts over six months, the school repeatedly floods. This ruins all of their equipment and water often contaminates the learning spaces. Burton House are keen to bring some much needed joy to the children who have so little. The nursery school is going to cost £6000 to completely re-build , however through this event we believe the generosity of our community can help kickstart the fundraising. Thank you.

Why could our money buy to help re build the school?

- £80 would buy all of the paint needed for the school.

- £500 would buy the school gate, doors and windows.

- £600 would buy a whole new roof for the school.

- £500 would buy all of the new tiling needed for the school.
