    Story

Final hurdle for my boy Buster to get to his forever home. His new mama, Dani is waiting for him in Canada and we HAVE to get him there!!!! Any donation No matter how small will help! Please share!!!!

This is Buster! He is an amazing loving dog that is currently living in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Buster was supposed to fly to Vancouver with the aid of a loving women named Shauna who run PV Rescue on August 19th, however he never made it here. Buster was supposed to be on a direct flight from Puerto Vallarta to Vancouver on AirTransat, but since they are a Montreal based company and on Busters vet papers it states he is a Pittbull cross they wouldn't let him on the plane!

Buster is currently in a loving foster home with a lovely women named Kate. She is taking wonderful care of him but she has animals of her own. Kate is willing to drive Buster to Canada, which is about 4 days each way! Between Dani, Shauna and Kate the cost of driving here is a bit more than we can budget. We were hoping to raise a little money to help with Kate's travels. The money would go toward gas, places to stay, food for both her and Buster. We have reached out to different airlines but this time of year they are unable to carry dogs in cargo due to the heat. If anyone could help we and Buster would really appreciate it!

Here is his story…Buster, the Pitbull mix was rescued in Puerto Vallarta in September. Buster was found by some physiotherapy volunteers from the UK. He had been spotted a few days before wondering around searching for food and hoping someone would show him some interest. The volunteers gave him some fuss and he followed them back to their hotel. They tried to feed him but he was unable to eat, his frame was so skeletal and he was practically yellow all over. He also had lots of scars on his legs and body. We took him to the vets and were told he was 7 years old, he had no teeth on his left-hand side and was very anaemic. The blood tests showed he had ehrlichia and that his kidneys were failing. I was advised that this boy would not survive past a week and that the kindest thing would be to put him to sleep. However, I saw something in his eyes that told me different. He was weak but had energy, he was eating and drinking well and even barking at me to feed him. After a very difficult day of trying to decide what was best for Buster I decided to take him to the beach. When we arrived, he could not wait to get in the sea! He ran straight in and was barking and swimming around, running and chasing the waves. I stood back and watched him and thought this dog is not ready to go. I managed to find a foster home that night and we carefully planned to review Buster week by week and see how he progressed. What has happened over the next few weeks was a miracle not only did this boy survive, but his kidneys recovered and he is now completely healthy.

Buster has now been boarded in kennels in PV for 10 months. He is doing really well and having lots of exercise and training every day. He had his surgery for castration, his booster shots and is ready for his forever home. This boy is beautiful, full of energy, in desperate need of cuddles and attention and a home of his own. He has obviously had a rough start in life but he has fought, beaten the odds and he is now ready for his new life with his new family.

None of us are the type of people to reach out and ask for money, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Any money donated will go directly to helping Buster get here and if there is any money leftover it would go directly to PV Rescue to help other dogs with whatever they needed.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Love from, Shauna, Kate, Laura, Dani and of course Buster :)
