I've raised £5000 to help fund the vet fees for my lovely labradoodle, Buster. I was nearly homeless, let his policy lapse and now he might have bone cancer.

Story

Around two years ago myself and my best friend Buster were about to be made homeless, I needed to reduce my outings and start putting money aside fast. With Buster being in great health and full of life I foolishly let his insurance lapse and never thought about it again.

Two weeks ago he started limping in his back left left, thinking nothing much of it we took him to the vets after it didn't improve after a week. The vet thought it was a torn ligament and prescribed painkillers and anti-inflammatories to reduce swelling and pain while the knee healed, she said to come back in a week for a checkup.

On Tuesday (28th) just gone we took him back and the vet was concerned that it hadn't healed but that it had got worse, so we took him back yesterday for X-rays on the leg. I had a call after work and informed that a 'mass' had grown on the knee and was possibly Osteosarcoma, bone cancer. The vet was unable to x-ray Busters chest and spine as the machine had broken after the leg x-ray. I was understandably annoyed that my best friend was unable to be checked to see if this possible cancer had spread, but they are waiting for the machine to be fixed so they can do more X-rays and also a biopsy on the 'mass' found in the leg.

I will do all I can to fix my best friend, please spare any little amount you can. I regret more than anything that I let his policy lapse and flaring with anger about the situation that led to it lapsing. I am using all my savings but they are rapidly depleting.

Thank you for reading and I will post updates regularly.
