Our Website

The British University Swimming League is a student run not-for-profit league providing affordable, fun and inclusive racing to over 60 UK universities and 3500+ swimmers this year.

Each year we host a 'Finals Day' Event, where the top 32 teams attend to battle it out in the A and B final.

With the increased cost of pools and travel, we want to be able to give our teams the same great experience whilst keeping it affordable. We currently receive no external funding from companies or governing bodies and rely solely on donations.

Any donation is grately appreciated and will go directly towards the cost of hiring a pool, hiring timing equipment and subsidising teams.

What are people saying about us?

“Recreational swimmers are usually very underappreciated and lack of opportunity to compete, given that our performance centre dominates, so it was lovely that they got the chance to do so, and place so highly at the final. It gave lots of our swimmers something to train and work for – Thank You’. - University of Bath

“The BUSL is intended to be a fun and competitive addition to the scarce university swimming schedule as a complement to BUCS, helping keep swimmers involved in the sport for longer than ever before. The BUSL is an entirely student-run league with a committee from universities in England, Scotland and Wales”

“One of the newest and most exciting swimming competitions in the UK” - Propulsion Swimming

“In swimming, the BUSL is a shining example of an additional opportunity to compete throughout that academic that both domestic and international students are simply not aware of at a great scale. - The Student Sport Company

‘It gives the opportunity for non-BUCS swimmers to compete, helping the team feel closer and allowing a sense of community with neighbouring universities' - Durham University

“All the little galas get people involved" - Kings College London

“Having more regular fixtures for swimming has brought us all much closer". - Manchester Metropolitan University

“Contending against universities with much bigger teams and giving all our members a chance to compete for the university" - Aberystwyth University
