Story
Blackpool Urgent Treatment Centre is fundraising to be able to purchase two community defibrillators . According to heartsafe.org the nearest community defibrillator (AED) is a 4 minute drive or 20 minute walk away, so we are hoping to attach one to the outside of Whitegate Health Centre and another for a local site close to Whitegate Health Centre which is being decided in conjunction with North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). These will give 24 hours access to life saving equipment.
For every minute that goes by where a victim of Sudden Cardiac Arrest does not receive treatment, their chance of survival decreases by 10%, if a defibrillator is used within 1 minute of the victim collapsing, the victim's survival rate increases to 90%! Help us improve the survival rate of those that could collapse nearby by donating today.
