I've raised £2000 to go towards the cost of repairs and additional security required due to the vandalism of the Buxton Market float and equipment trailers

Vandalism Repairs Buxton Market – How can you help?
Since the first instance of vandalism to our equipment in December, we have been warmed by the support that everyone has shown for Buxton Market. Our team are working hard to get the necessary repairs completed once we have keys to our new storage area (thanks to High Peak Borough Council) but the multiple, what we still believe to be targeted attacks on our equipment, have had a massive negative impact on Buxton Market and our traders.
We have been able so muddle through with borrowed gazebos and traders bringing their own stalls, but we have not been able to have as many traders operating and we have had to charge our traders reduced pitch fees due to the lack of equipment which means we have not been able to cover our costs.
Lots of people have asked “how can we help?” and we will be saying thank you to some local businesses who have helped us, but we still face a bill for repairs, both from the December attacks and the current repairs that need to be made, additional security and we also have a loss of earnings to cover. Buxton Markets is a Community Interest Company and we have fixed costs and paid employees (and equally hard working volunteers).
We have estimated that the total cost of repairs and the extra security measures needed at the depot cost up to £2000 and loss of earnings around another £2000.
After several requests from people wanting to help and as we have the secure storage in place, we are now opening our “Just Giving” campaign. If you would like to help, any donation would be gratefully received. We are bringing on new traders this year and we have such a positive outlook for 2023 and we really appreciate your support.
