Story
At Bear Wellbeing and Breaking Point Gym, we believe that helping people stay healthy doesn't stop at our front door.
We're raising funds to install a 24-hour public access defibrillator (AED) and secure heated cabinet outside our premises on Peasiehill Road, Arbroath. This life-saving equipment will be available to anyone who needs it, at any time of the day or night.
Our location sits within the Elliot Industrial Estate, which is home to more than 40 businesses, hundreds of employees and visitors, as well as over 400 members of Breaking Point Gym and the clients who use Bear Wellbeing every week. Despite the number of people in the area, there isn't an immediately accessible public defibrillator nearby.
When someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR and defibrillation significantly reduces their chance of survival. Having rapid access to an AED can make the difference between life and death while waiting for the ambulance service to arrive.
Every penny raised will go towards purchasing, installing and maintaining the defibrillator and its weatherproof cabinet, ensuring it remains available for the whole community for years to come.
Our first fundraiser, following on from our Ben Nevis hike is a sponsored hike of Scotlands second highest peak, Ben Macdui! So either join us on the hike on Saturday 19th September or make a donation to support our team!
Whether you can donate £2 or £200, every contribution brings us one step closer to providing a resource that we hope is rarely needed, but could one day save the life of a friend, family member, colleague or complete stranger.
Thank you for helping us make our community a safer place.
