What is crowdfunding?

Story
My dream is to become a professional coach and I need the qualifications to get there. My financial situation is abysmal at the min and what ever money I get goes on the family. I currently work full time and also coach at 2 different clubs u9s and u21s goalkeeping. Unfortunately these clubs don't have the funding to help me achieve the qualifications I need. Also I don't want to leave these clubs as I have grown with them and love coaching them. This is a first time thing for me and I wouldn't normally do this but what's the worst that can happen? Thank you for reading
