I've raised £3000 to enhance our ward environment for our patients and give the best patient experience from the minute they walk through our doors.

Story

We are team Byron Ward. We care for patients in LSCFT on a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, where we care for patients at the absolute crisis point of their mental illness.

As a team we have accepted a Conqueror Virtual challenge to travel from Lands End to John O'Groats spanning 1084 miles over a 6 week period. We will achieve this by running, walking, swimming, cycling or any other activity that will collate miles to finish the challenge in 6 weeks.

We have decided to do this challenge to raise money for our patients and ward to enhance on our environment, which will be welcoming for our patients as soon as they step through our doors.

We have operated a 'you said, we did' approach and have asked our patients what they would like on the ward to further improve their experience.

All funds raised will go towards enhancing the garden with a wall mural, games corner and any other activities that the patients would benefit from and is suitable for a PICU.

This challenge might put some staff out of their comfort zones in terms of extra activity. It's a big task but we are all dedicated to achieving this goal and even some of our patients are keen to be involved by walking on leave or around our garden.

As a team and a Trust we are extremely committed to providing the best patient care and strive for the best patient experience.

Please can I thank anyone that donates to this very worthy cause, as we would really like to raise as much money for our patients as we can.

We appreciate any donation, no matter how big or small.
