Story

Hello all,

We are trying to raise funds for my son Miles to buy a new electric wheelchair. Sadly, his wonderful old wheelchair broke down on Christmas Eve (of all times!) after giving him many years of comfortable independence.

Many of you might not know Miles. Miles is a bright, charming 19 year old teenager who has a genetic muscle wasting condition called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Miles cannot walk due to this and needs to use an electric wheelchair to go everywhere. Before Christmas, Miles could thoroughly enjoy getting out of the house to do any activities he could. Now that his chair is broken he can no longer sit at a restaurant table or even enjoy a trip to the shops without feeling pains in his hip/pelvic joints and back. Due to this, Miles has spent a great deal of his time in bed this year..

We are trying to raise £19,236 for an amazing new chair which would allow Miles to go back to being a teenager who is trying to live his life to the fullest and giving him back his independence.

Miles would be chuffed to bits with any donations given (and I would love to get him out of the house!)

Massive thanks in advance for any help given.

Miles, Catherine and family x
