Story
I am swimming the North Channel this September, this is a 25 mile swim from Donaghadee N Ireland to Portpatrick Scotland, this is the hardest channel of them all with its strong tides, very cold water and lions mane jellyfish. I am nearly there and have put in a very hard year training, this consists of long miles in ice water, Iv just completed my 6 hour qualifying swim, where I had to swim in the sea for 6 hours, conditions were horrendous with lots of Jelly's, every part of my body got stung, face and all.
I am doing this swim all in aid of the stephen Lyness foundation. Steohen was a lovely local lad who passed away on his 18th birthday 12 years ago due to the devastating effect of Sudden adult death syndrome. Stephen and his family are a very popular family in our area and I'm glad to be able to help.
This isn't any ordinary swim , this is the Everest of swims which has only been completed by 42 people. With my guts and determination I'm going to be the 43rd.
Iv already raised over Β£2000 and raised Β£1800 with the help of local businesses for my safety boat and medical crew. Iv put around Β£800 of my own money towards boat which is a massive part of this swim.
Please please please put the hands in the pocket and raise as much as we can for this local memorial fund.
With the help of others and Steohen looking down I'm gona do this .
Thanks
Chris judge
