Story
My friend Has been providing temporary accomodation for Scarboroughs homeless community for the past 2 years, I was shocked to find out that a high number of these, were former members of HM Forces who for whatever reason have fallen upon hardtimes.
being army veterans ourselves he has decided to turn his hotel into assisted living for veterans. He was inspired by one of his students (Aaron), who is also a decorated ex servicemen, and attended Simon’s Close Protection course last April, which was funded by Project Nova. Upon completing the course he informed Simon that he had lost his accomodation due to the amount of time he had been absent whilst attending his course. He was beside himself, when he found out. Simon then offered him a room in the hotel for free until he got on his feet.
fortunately for Aaron, Simon’s current hotel manager had to leave .So he was able to offer the role to his new found guest who gladly accepted. He was over the moon as he didnt have to return to a place that he had no affiliation with or have to share a room with drug addicts and unknown people that he had nothing in common with.
As previously stated, the hotel is fully up an running but he is looking for donations so that he can convert the bar into a coffee and chill out communal room for the troops. The kitchen has been ripped out and refitted with donated stainless steel worktops. However, he is trying to source a tumble dryer, washers and a large electric oven so that they can prepare their own meals as well as administer themselves.
Any help big or small would be greatly appreciated and most welcome.
Thanks in advance.
