    Story

With the unprecedented shut down of all non-league football and social gatherings we find ourselves in the position of now having no income stream into Cadbury Heath Football Club from virtually all sources for the foreseeable future.

We haven’t played a home game since 22nd February and there is a very real risk that this crisis continues for some time yet and that we may not be back playing again until August.

We continue to incur utility bill costs for our ground and clubhouse but also have essential ground, clubhouse and pitch maintenance that must be undertaken in preparation for the new season. With the long-term loss of our income streams these bills and the essential pitch, clubhouse and ground works are even more challenging than usual.

We were founded in 1894 and are one of the oldest clubs in the South West still in existence. With a long history of honours, and of developing players for higher levels of football, the team currently plays in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division, playing against teams based in Bristol and Bath as well as from throughout Gloucestershire, Somerset, Devon, Wiltshire and Dorset. We play in national cup competitions (the FA Cup and FA Vase) as well as the Gloucestershire FA Challenge Trophy. We’re a committee-based club, run by a small group of dedicated and determined volunteers and have played our home games at Springfield, on Cadbury Heath Road, for around 60 years at the heart of the local community. Not only is our focus on developing our players but we also offer our community some local football where they can cheer on a local side for only a small amount of money – we have a loyal and dedicated set of supporters of all ages that attend home and away games and are an essential part of the club as we offer a social environment before, during and after games. As well as our senior team we also have a reserve side that play in the Bristol Suburban league.

We greatly appreciate any support that can be offered from anyone in a position to help, however small. All contributions will be greatly received. Even if you aren’t in a position to help the club with a donation, you can still support us by passing this message on to friends, family and colleagues.

We thank you in advance for any help you can give us but, most importantly, we hope that all of our supporters, friends and local community stay safe, well and follow the Government and NHS Guidelines and advice. Look after each other and those who are vulnerable in our community.
