Cadog's Corner Development Group

Cadog’s Corner Development Group creates and sustains opportunities for the community to develop and grow stronger. Our activities are designed to address social isolation, health and wellbeing and employability with the aim to improve the lives of people living in Cadoxton, Barry. We have run a variety of different projects opening up to a breadth of different individuals within the community.

Our current projects include; Cadog's Cafe, Big Bocs Bwyd, Cadfield Van, a Community Allotments and Community learning and courses.

We have supported 8 other schools in different local authorities to create a Big Bocs Bwyd suited to their wants and needs in their local areas.

Our aim is to ensure that no child is hungry and that every child is able to learn how to make good food choices that enable them to thrive. Children and families will be provided with food at ‘pay as you feel’ prices and supported with authentic learning experiences through growing and cooking food.

The installation of a Big Bocs Bwyd in a school will be explicitly linked to the 4 purposes of the Curriculum for Wales, ensuring that children are:

•Healthy, confident individuals

•Ambitious, capable learners

•Ethical, informed citizens

•Enterprising, creative contributors

Every child will become food literate by growing, cooking and learning about food. We want to make our community happy and healthy by helping them socialise, make friends and make healthy choices affordable.

OUR MISSION THIS CHRISTMAS -

After a challenging year for many of our families and members of the community we want to come together to ensure all our families can have a wonderful Christmas filled with joy and happiness. We want to help our families that use our Cadfield van weekly by providing them with a Christmas Dinner Hamper, that they might not have ordinarily been able to afford.

It will include -

Meat (Chicken, Turkey, Pork, Beef or Lamb)

Pigs in blankets

Vegetables – Sprouts, Carrots, Potatoes, Cabbage, Parsnips

Gravy Granules

Christmas Dessert

Mince Pies

Selection Boxes

Gift vouchers for their children

Our Santa's Helpers aim to make 82 Christmas Hampers that will be delivered to their homes on 23rd December. Together we can and together we will!
