Story

I am currently studying for my GCSE's and fundraising for an expedition to Costa Rica with Camps International where I will carry out voluntary work in some of the most disadvantaged communities. On this expedition I want to educate myself about the people who have not been as fortunate as I have and not had the same opportunities that much of us today take for granted, for example, free education and health care, a safe community to live in, running water and basic sanitation. Coming from a sheltered background, I feel it is important to experience first hand what can be done to abolish poverty and to support others in need of our help. Whilst carrying out this work, I wish to develop personal skills which will help me to become a well-rounded individual and enable me to do what I can to help others.
