I've raised £3000 to help Calais Light volunteers feed and care for destitute refugees in Calais.

Calais Light runs a regular convoy service from Brentwood to Calais every 2 months, to feed and clothe destitute migrants who are stranded there. We go to chop vegetables in the Refugee Community Kitchen and sort donations in the amazing Help Refugees UK Warehouse. We take people from anywhere in the UK who can get to Brentwood and offer them a light and easy process to do the good they want to do. What's special about Calais Light is that we book everything. Our service is perfect for people who are scared of refugees, guilty about them, don't know how to speak French, or don't know where to find them or even those who are nervous about travelling alone.
We arrange fun groups of like-minded individuals, from ages 18-75. We need funds to support the refugees, to subsidise volunteers on low budgets as well as purchasing supplies for the Refugee Community Kitchen.
The situation in Calais has become increasingly hostile for refugees there. Tents and personal possessions are routinely destroyed by police so migrants are currently living rough, with no cover, in the wild. The work the Refugee Community Kitchen does is irreplaceable and can't be underestimated. If they didn't cook and distribute food and supplies daily (maraudes), the refugees would be left hungry and homeless without access to even basic sanitation. These two outstanding charities need a constant stream of volunteers. We are part of their mission. Choose LOVE.
