Weʼve raised £1,572 to help us to represent the UK in the International finals of Robocup

    Wirral, UK
Funded on Thursday, 31st May 2018

Don't have time to donate right now?

We are wondering if you can help us, we are a group of students from Calday Grange on the Wirral in Merseyside and we are currently looking for sponsors for our robotics team.

On Monday 12th March we took part in the UK final of the Robocup junior competition and one of our teams placed first nationally. We now have a place to represent the UK and Ireland in the Robocup Junior International final, which takes place as part of the International Robocup competition in Montreal in Canada.

The competition is in June and it would be an amazing opportunity for us to attend both educationally and culturally. Unfortunately, the competition provides no funding for the trip and the cost is approximately £6000 to cover flights and accommodation, we need to do this by May 18th as that is the deadline for registration. Last year we won the national finals and had the place to attend the world championships in Japan, however we were unable to raise the funds required to go and we as a school would be extremely disappointed to miss out on this opportunity again .

This year we are hoping to get enough sponsorship to enable us to attend and represent our school and country.

If you want any information you can contact our teacher by email

    Kind Regards

Josh Smith (Year 10) , Ewan Scott (Year 9) , Daniel Mackenzie (Year 13)

We held a fundraising day on Friday which raised over £1700 towards the trip - we have also had a few donations from companies and individuals which has put us firmly on our way. We will be going to Canada to represent the UK in the International Final of Robocup in June, we have enough to buy flights, accommodation and the competition fees, any further funds will help towards our transfers and food whilst we are out there. We can't thank everyone enough for their support to get us here. You are all amazing - here's to doing you all proud.

We have a competition in school to win an Xbox One bundle with Fifa 17 (donated by NDL software) Guess the number of Lego pieces in the jar (rules in the image below). The team will be going around forms to take peoples guesses (£1 per guess) Guesses can also be bought through this page - in the comments section please state its for the competition and your guess and your tie-breaker guess. An image of the jar will be posted in the next update.
