As a local Councillor I would like to help raise funds for the local authority to paint some of these crossings here in Calderdale.

Many local authorities across the UK have demonstrated their support for the LGBTQ+ community by painting rainbow crossings over existing Pelican crossings. This seems a great high visibility way to demonstrate that Calderdale is an inclusive borough. The bright rainbows would cheer up everyone's day and look fabulous.

It is important to me as a Councillor as I believe Calderdale should be an inclusive place where everyone is made to feel welcome.

If for any reason this project can't go ahead I will donate the money to Calderdale Pride so that they can continue to promote equality and diversity by the elimination of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity in Calderdale and throughout the world.
