Story
In order to produce original research, Calderglen & Calderwood Castle History sacrifices worktime and personal time at personal cost and energy to make this happen. Sadly the amount of travelling, resources, accommodation, and time required are altogether so expensive that it is preventing this from happening. Significant time sacrificed is lost as unpaid, and extra expense is required to publish and realise findings and discoveries through journals and similar.
Similarly equipment and time to survey new sites to contribute to this research is also costly.
By donating to this page you are helping to take off some of that pressure, by putting the balance right for those pursuing this research, as well as opening new research doors which would not otherwise have been affordable. The Tours run by the Calderglen page, although charged, also run at a loss - as insurance and risk assessment costs outweigh takings from tickets, and so the organiser already partially covers the cost of each event.
The security of the funds raised really are a blessing in exchange for the hard work of this page's organisers, and for that Calderglen & Calderwood Castle History is truly thankful for anything you can give.
By supporting the page you are enabling tours to continue and for the lost beauty spot of Calderglen to gain more and more proven status for what it means to the culture and heritage of East Kilbride, Blantyre, and Scotland as a national landscape of importance.
Thank you so much. :-)
