Story

In 2020, myself along with 15 other students from my school are going on an educational research expedition to Madagascar.

We will be staying there for two weeks which is split into 2 sections. The first part of the expedition will be in the dry forests of Madagascar where we will be conducting ecological surveys on the indigenous animal and plant life within the forest. We will also be taking part in conservation work within the dry forest.

The second week is spent at Nosy Be where we the research and conservation will be focused on the marine life of Madagascar. Alongside of this is a full programme lectures delivered by the researchers and scientists of Operation Wallacea. These lectures will cover the ecosystems of Madagascar and work being done in an attempt to protect it for future generations.

Part of this experience is that we fundraise for the cost of the expedition and for that reason myself and the other students will be attempting the 24 miles of the Yorkshire Dales 3 Peaks challenge on April 6th to help raise money for this.

Thank you for reading this and also for your sponsorship.
