I've raised £1000 to go to nelsons journey in memory of Luke Boorman

THE STORY BEHIND THE FUNDRAISING
In January 2020 Luke Boorman was tragically found dead in his overturned car on the A47 in Norwich. Luke was reported missing 2 days earlier. Family and friends were devastated at this news. Luke left behind a young daughter Ava and young nieces and nephews also. Explaining a death to children is very difficult and both myself and Ava’s mum went to Nelsons Journey for advice to support us in these conversations with our children.
Over the next few weeks more information emerged and it was revealed that Luke’s death was in fact suicide. Now came even more difficult conversations with our children and as parents we had no idea where to start or how to explain things. Nelsons Journey were amazing and continue to be amazing, answering questions we have and giving us advice.
In January 2021, to mark the first anniversary of Luke’s death, 11 year old Caleb would like to do a sponsored bike ride event over the month to raise funds for Nelsons Journey in memory of Uncle Luke.
Caleb will cycle a total of 250 miles throughout the month.
On the 17th January, as part of his cycle ride, he will ride from our home in Sprowston to Luke’s old house in Bowthorpe and then onto Earlham park (where we held a candle vigil for Luke after his death). Caleb will be joined on the last stretch of this ride by Luke’s daughter Ava.
Caleb will cycle a minimum of 250 miles throughout January come rain or shine. This will be tracked with a cycle app and we will blog his progress.
